The United States Department of Justice charged client with enticement of a minor and possession of child pornography. The federal government indicated they were going to add additional charges of production of child pornography. Client was facing life in prison. Keith & Lorfing uncovered a constitutional violation of client’s rights and moved to dismiss the case. The government reviewed the evidence found by Keith & Lorfing and agreed that his client’s fifth amendment rights had been violated. The case was DISMISSED on all counts and the client walked out of jail a free man.Charges Reduced

His guidelines on the charged offenses was more than ten years in federal prison and would have required him to register as a sex offender. Mr. Lorfing, however, was able to get the charges REDUCED. Client was accused of harming his young child but the client maintained his innocence. Because of his prior criminal record, he was looking at years in prison. A few days before trial, all counts against him were DISMISSED.Case Dismissed
Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury
Client was accused of stabbing his girlfriend with a knife. He was arrested and charged with a second- degree felony. Knowing he was potentially facing life in prison, client and his family retained the services of Keith & Lorfing . Russell Lorfing fought for his client early on in the process and was able to get the case DISMISSED.
Deferred Probation
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Client had previously been convicted of six felony offenses. The state had charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and client was facing up to life in prison based on several enhancements. The plea offer from the state was 25 years in prison. With the help of Keith & Lorfing, the client was able to get clean and ultimately received five years DEFERRED PROBATION.Case Closed
Child Abuse
CPS was investigating client for child abuse. Mr. Lorfing flew to Houston and met with the CPS case worker and was present during all interviews of the family. He zealously represented his client’s interest during their investigation. As a result, the CPS case was CLOSED.Great Outcome
Federal Bank Fraud
The United States government accused client of a complex check kiting scheme. She faced a maximum sentence of thirty years in prison. Keith & Lorfing was able to prove that his client’s role in the scheme was limited and she was only a minor participant. As a result, client received a REDUCED sentence.Charges Reduced
Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana
The United States Department of Justice charged client with multiple felony offenses, including conspiracy, possession of firearms by a previously convicted felon, using firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking, and distribution of large amounts of marijuana. As charged, client’s guideline sentence was a little over twenty years in federal prison. Despite client’s full confession and refusal to cooperate with law enforcement, Mr. Lorfing was able to secure a plea to a REDUCED charge. The plea deal guaranteed his client would receive no more than five years in prison.

Client was accused of attempting to solicit a minor for a sexual relationship. Client was 30 years older than the alleged victim. Mr. Lorfing was hired early on in the process and the charges were REJECTED for prosecution by state authorities.

3 weeks agoThis has been my second experience with Keith and Lorfing and once again, Russel and his staff have far exceeded my expectations. Due to a series of unfortunate events and false accusations, I was being charged with a crime that I did not commit. If convicted, it could have potentially very well ruined my career. Thankfully, Russel was able to get it dismissed within months. I appreciate his genuine concern and interest in all the ins and outs of my situation. He is undoubtedly a very busy man, but yet he always gives you his full attention and never makes you feel as if you're being rushed. While he makes no promises, Russel is a man of his word. He will work with you and adjust to your situation. I HIGHLY recommend using him or any other of his fellow attorneys, as they fight for you as a team.

5 months agoFirst experience with any law firm where I actually felt represented and that my lawyer was truly fighting for me. This team is simply amazing and worth every penny. Russell and Trey will roll up their sleeves and take however much time is needed to understand your case top to bottom. When you do enter the court room there is no doubt this legal team has went above and beyond, giving you peace of mind that your defense is fully prepared, confident and ready to fight for you. I’ve had 3 cases with them and 100% victory on all of them. I was innocent with the deck stacked against me. They believed in me, jumped in and brilliantly represented me to a unanimous not guilty verdict on both charges. Trey took charge of that trial and handled it start to finish like the wise and professional litigator he is. He then got the charge on my 2nd case dismissed. Russell stepped up and got my 3rd case dismissed. He also stuck with me doing me a huge favor, which he certainly wasn’t obligated to do so. If you got serious charge's, these are your people! a week agoRussell Lorfing is a great defense attorney, he represented me in my federal probation violation and also a state case. His law firm help me dismiss my state case and my federal violation. I highly recommend Russell Lorfin for any criminal case, specifically federal cases. Wouldn’t have nobody else represent me because he also demonstrated he truly cares for his clients.

a month agoI found Keith and Lorfing with the help of an attorney friend of my mom. Didn't even bother looking anywhere else. Mr. Lorfing's area of expertise was exactly what I was looking for. They were very professional and straight forward. I initially spoke with Mr. Lorfing but the other attorneys at his firm were more than capable of representing me when he was busy with another case. Within 6 months, all my court appearances were settled and they were able to avoid trial and get me an outcome I'm more than satisfied with.

a year agoI was very pleased with the handling of my case, by the Lorfing Law Firm. From the beginning, Russell made it a point to make sure that he was the right lawyer for me. He asked that I do some comparisons with other lawyers in town. I did, however I ultimately chose the Lorfing Law Firm to represent me because my interaction with Russell was more personal than with the others. He & his team are extremely hard working, intelligent, & keep open communication with their clients. Tyler Cagle, handled my arraignment & did an excellent job. He went above & beyond to make sure everything would go smoothly during & after my hearing. Can't thanks this team enough for their dedication & honesty throughout the process.

Typically when you need a lawyer, the circumstances aren’t the best, and Joel made me feel comfortable during the entire process. I received constant communication for the full duration, and they made me feel like family. I was more than just a client, I was important and a priority to them. 3 months agoRussell was recommended to me by several people and we are so lucky to have found him! He was able to get a potential 7 year sentence down to only 9 months. Not to mention him and everyone at the law firm was so kind and helpful. They made us feel welcomed and had no judgement. They answered all our questions in a timely manner and walked us through every part of the process. It felt more like a family than a law firm. Would recommend to anyone who is in a tough spot, and if ever needed I would absolutely go with him again!

Coming from a law enforcement background myself, I can say they are the best at criminal defense. Before hiring them, I reached out to two law firms in the Abilene area, two law firms in Houston, and two law firms in Dallas.
Medlin Law Firm located in Dallas, TX told me that I would be best served by Keith & Lorfing since they are the most premiere criminal law firm in Northwest Texas.

8 months agoOne word comes to mind after my experience with the Keith & Lorfing law firm and that is, Family. I went through a difficult time, and I needed an expert defense lawyer on my side to help me navigate the challenges that lay ahead.
I believe without a doubt in my mind that God guided me to these incredible and non-judgmental people. The vast knowledge that this firm has collectively made me feel like everything would be taken care of quickly and professionally, and I was correct.

They are pro-active and handle everything fast, so all the hard work and battles of the case will be done without you knowing. 9 months agoI am actually from and in Missouri I was having trouble finding a lawyer that would even tell me what kind of representation I would need for such I seen this attorney’s number on Google and that they did exactly what I was looking for I called like I had so many others already here it was getting disheartening and immediately in the first two sentences of the conversation with the paralegal I was starting to feel hopeful once more Miss Wendy Pearson was absolutely amazing helpful friendly went above and beyond explained to me exactly what representation I needed and why and I would recommend this law firm to everyone and anyone because like I said I’m in Missouri they can’t even practice in my state but we’re more willing to help me and then the 20 lawyers I’ve already called they can take my case!!!!!!

3 months agoRussell and his team are absolutely amazing!! They helped my husband win his trial of false accusations domestic family violence on a 2nd degree felony charge! I would/will recommend the Keith and Lorfing Law firm to anyone who needs a lawyer! He did an amazing job getting the truth out and calling out the lies that came with the case! God definitely worked through Russell, Chris and Kentara! I am very thankful they were able to get my husband a NOT GUILTY verdict in Jones county!
