Jackson Smith

Jackson Smith serves as a Special Investigator at Keith & Lorfing, where he assists attorneys by interviewing witnesses, reviewing discovery and public records, analyzing financial, physical, and digital evidence, developing case timelines, and gathering additional facts that may be critical to a client’s defense.

Born and raised in Abilene, Jackson has deep West Texas roots and understands the communities Keith & Lorfing serves. He earned his Master of International Affairs from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, concentrating in Intelligence and Defense. While at Texas A&M, he also competed as a Division I rugby player, an experience that strengthened his discipline, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure.

Before joining the firm, Jackson gained experience supporting national-security, cyber-policy, research-security, and counterintelligence missions. He last worked with the Office of the Principal Cyber Advisor to the Secretary of the Army at The Pentagon, preparing analysis and decision materials for senior military leaders. His intelligence studies also included training in surveillance, counter-surveillance, and investigative interviewing, which strengthens his ability to gather information, assess credibility, and recognize details that may otherwise be overlooked.

Jackson brings a unique intelligence-driven approach to every investigation: carefully evaluating evidence, identifying inconsistencies, developing rapport with key witnesses or individuals related to cases, and connecting facts that may be critical to the investigation. Driven by a commitment to helping others, he plans to build a career at the intersection of criminal investigations, intelligence, and public service.
